Silk Screen Printing
>> What is Silk Screen Printing?
Silk screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open ares.
The silk screen process is based on the fundamental principle of the stencil. If paint or any other colored fluid is rubbed over a stencil, it will readily penetrate the unprotected portions and will be unable to pass through the masked portions.
In the silk screen printing process, the stencil is affixed to a piece of silk that is stretched on a wooden frame. The silk acts as a screen support for keeping all the integral parts of the stencil in a fixed position, without any ties or other connecting links. This marks the outstanding difference between the silk screen and the common oilpaper and metal stencils.
>> Applications of Silk Screen Printing
We have been printing critical parts for the medical, industrial, consumer products, and military markets. Industries that we have been working for include sheet metal fabrication, appliance, automotive, electronic, electrical, machinery, medical, military, communication, computer hardware, and more.
The wide range of screen printing products include instrument panels, molded parts, sheet metal cases, sheet metal boxes, control panels, displays, bezels, machine parts, backlit panels, cover glass, overlays, optic conductors, keypads, etc.
We have been even using silk screen printing on some difficult surfaces including inside boxes, curved surfaces, recessed surfaces, textured surfaces, and more.
>> OEM Enclosure Inc. Silk Screen Pringint Capabilities
We have the flexibility to run prototypes and low quantities as well as gear up for production runs. We can design and fabrication of fixtures for applications with challenging shapes and surfaces. We are specialized in development of effective low cost solutions for production runs.
We have the expertise to select the correct paint for each application to provide for adhesion and scratch and wear resistance. Precision screen printing is accomplished with the use of semi-automatic and hand-operated screening equipment. We can register up to 19 colors per piece with precise detail. We have perfected the art of trapping within .005+/- registration and line weight of .007.
> Our Quick Turn Around Time
With repeat item ruch orders, our typical turnaround time is only 1 day. Standard leam time is about 3 days. We have in-house screen and fixture fabrication capabilities, and we can do custom color mixing and matching to pantone numbers.
> Our Quality Assurance Program
We do 100 percent inspection throughout the silk screen printing process. We use graphics that insure crisp and accurate reproduction, quality ink mixing and matching to insure accurate printing, and proper cutting and packaging to finish the project.
